SelfCare

Oil on canvas 24x18
I finished SelfCare right before I moved to Chicago, the inspiration behind that was me having myself. In this vulnerable self portrait I wear purple skin. I hold my bruised body, my breasts specifically, baring as much as I can. The breasts are literal nurturing spouts; I didn’t know it then but I desperately needed to nurture myself from the turmoil in which I was living.

Painting of two hands gently touching, rendered in shades of pink and purple.
